jeanne’s birthday

i love to bake. and i love chocolate cake. and all cake. so when i was invited to our parent’s house to celebrate our grandmother jeanne’s 85th birthday, i made a delicious devil’s food cake topped with brown sugar buttercream. it was a hit. the cake was moist and chocolaty and the buttercream provided just the right hint of sweetness.

i will definitely make the cake again and again, but i may try to find another frosting in the future. everyone else seemed to love it, but it was a little too buttery for me. maybe because i knew how much butter was in it…
